I was reading the Asian Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and came across an ad for a property in the Carribean.  It said, "An 1,100 hectare..."

"An" is used when the next word starts with a vowel, so technically, this is correct.  Although "one" starts with an "o" it is pronounced with a consonant (i.e. "w").

Try reading it out loud, "an 1,100 hectare..."

Weird, isn't it?

1. If the enemy is in range, so are you.

2. Incoming fire has the right of way.

15. Anything you do can get you shot, including nothing.

16. Make it tough enough for the enemy to get in and you won't be able to get out.

17. Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.

18. If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in a combat zone.

19. When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.

20. Never forget that your weapon is made by the lowest bidder.

21. Friendly Fire Isn't..

One Saturday morning, I woke up and before I knew it I was gulping pancakes with Ryan (aka Quanny) and getting our hair fixed. Naturally, girls finish later than boys so within 5 minutes, his hair was cut, and about 55 more minutes after that, I was finally allowed to get out of the chair.  Later that day I saw Dingdong Dantes on a billboard along Edsa (wherelse?). He was showing off the garter of his skivvies (Hanford) and was looking down at... whoa! Sbarro's baked lasagna. The dish had a separate billboard of its own below Dingdong's knees.  Then a little farther down the road we see a tarp that goes: (insert forgettable name of firm stored in my cerebrum somewhere then) we create people by making them global enterprises..." Whadda.. Howda... Whadda... How do you "create people by making them global enterprises?!?!?!" Someboday run after the DTI for English grammar!
